End of Summer Update: Bringing the Virtual Library to Life at IFM!

—

1–2 minutes

As summer winds down, the progress at Instituto Fermín Mayorga in El Corpus, Honduras, continues to move forward at an inspiring pace! Following our spring fundraising milestones and the structural work completed through June, July and August were focused on advancing the interior buildout and setting up the technology infrastructure for the new virtual library and learning hub.

It’s been a little while since our last post, so thank you for your patience during our hiatus! We have lots of photos—and even some videos—to show you, and we’ll be sharing even more across our social media pages over the coming weeks. Board members Monica and Omar traveled to El Corpus this summer to visit family and had the opportunity to tour the school in person, snapping plenty of progress photos for us along the way.

Since our last update, the physical transformation of the space has been incredible:

  • The new roof has been raised and secured.
  • Fresh flooring, windows, doors, and ceilings are fully installed.
  • Electrical wiring and fixtures are set up and ready for tech integration.
  • A beautiful new sliding glass door now connects the two main library rooms.

We are absolutely thrilled with how much has been accomplished over the summer months and can’t wait for students to experience the completed space.

Take a look at the slideshow below to see the latest photos from Monica and Omar’s visit!

Thank you to all the friends of IFM for your ongoing interest and support. And special thanks to Omar, Monica, and our friends at the school for taking photos and videos of the project! For videos please visit our Instagram and Facebook pages. We will have more progress to share with you soon as the project continues to move forward, so stay tuned!
