So much progress took place during May at the Instituto Fermín Mayorga, and as June began, the momentum kept right on going. By the start of the month, the construction crew was already about halfway up with the cinderblock walls, turning our initial plans into a real, solid structure. We end the month of June 2026 with the WALLS and a ROOF! There is still much to be done but it has been exciting to follow this major progress. Also, on our social media pages we have started posting in both English and Spanish. We hope to have the website in both languages soon!

The walls continued to go up incredibly fast as the weeks went on. We owe a big thank you to the local crew members who have put in so much hard work laying blocks and building out the physical frame of this library expansion. Their dedication is making this project look better and better every day.
By mid-June, the heavy wall construction was moving so quickly that the crew was ready to transition to the next big phase of the build. With the foundational cinderblock walls fully set, the focus immediately shifted to the overhead structure. Next up on the agenda: raising the roof!
The past week and a half has been a whirlwind of activity on the campus in El Corpus, and we have an exciting new milestone to share. The roof is officially up! See the photos posted on June 27 below. It is wonderful to see this project so far along, bringing us one step closer to providing a beautiful, expanded learning space where these students can study, research, and thrive.
