Students Leading the Way
At Friends of IFM, our goal has always been to support the potential of the students at Instituto Fermín Mayorga. Today, we are happy to share an update from the campus in Honduras. (Thanks to IFM for the pics!)
Before construction starts, the site needs significant preparation. The secondary school students who will soon be researching and studying in this new space stepped up to help.
On March 16, IFM students assisted by moving heavy rocks and soil to prepare the site. Seeing these young men and women invest their own effort into the foundation of their school is a reminder of why we do this work here in Raleigh.

A Future of Connection
This addition is more than just a room for books. By combining a library with a dedicated computer lab, we are providing students with the digital tools and quiet study spaces they need.

How You Can Help: Our Local Plant Fundraiser
The students have done the heavy lifting in Honduras—now it’s our turn in Raleigh. To fund the materials needed to turn this leveled ground into a completed facility, we are hosting our Annual Plant Fundraiser! Every dollar you spend supports the purchase of bricks, mortar, and computer equipment for the IFM campus.

Spring Plant Sale & Fundraiser
Please mark your calendars for our Plant Fundraiser Weekend, April 10-12, 2026.
To kick off the fundraiser, join us for a “Plant Party” on Friday, April 10. The evening will feature botanical cocktails, a raffle, and a special sneak-peak plant sale for our supporters. It’s the perfect chance to pick up some spring greenery early while celebrating this season of growth for the students of IFM. We look forward to seeing you there!
