Thank You for a Wonderful Plant Sale – We Raised Over $600!

2–3 minutes

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who came out to our plant sale on Sunday, April 6th, at the home of Josh and Jen Boyer. We are thrilled to announce that thanks to your support, we raised over $600 for the Instituto Fermín Mayorga library expansion project! This plant sale marks a great start to our $20,000 fundraising goal, which will provide valuable resources for the students. We are grateful for your contribution.

It was great to see so many members of our community browsing the diverse selection of plants available. We offered everything from popular succulents and houseplants like jade and spider plants, to spring-ready herb and vegetable seedlings, and unique divisions from local gardens. We also appreciate those who enjoyed the lemonade, fresh eggs, and local honey we had to offer.

This event’s success was largely due to the generosity of several individuals. We would like to specifically thank:

  • Sean and Siobhan O’Neal for their significant contribution of plants, fresh eggs, and their enthusiastic promotion of the sale.
  • Dana Deaton for providing a lovely selection of plants, delicious local honey, and for helping us get the word out.
  • Sherri Pekks for the addition of the interesting devil’s backbone and the mystery plant.
  • Cheryl Young for donating a variety of well-loved perennials such as clematis, milkweed, and phlox.
  • Kathy and Dennis Stinehelfer for their hard work setting up, their valuable gardening advice for shoppers, and their overall helpfulness.
  • Barb Irwin for her kind permission to divide many beautiful perennials in her yard.
  • Deirdre Baker for the unique begonia cuttings from her collection.
  • Liza Coontz for bringing a generous supply of aloe and spider plant babies.

We also want to thank everyone who took the time to shop, engage in conversation, share our event on social media, and contribute to our fundraising efforts. Every purchase and donation contributed to the impressive total raised.

Still Green to Go! Stop by and shop this week!

For those interested in adding more plants to their homes or gardens, we still have a selection available outside at 920 Pebblebrook Drive this week on an honor system. You’ll find tomatoes, squash, elderberry, stinging nettle, peppers, zucchini, and more. Feel free to stop by.

Thank you once again for your valuable support in helping us work towards this important project for the Instituto Fermín Mayorga library.
